The November 2025 report examines Italians’ awareness of and willingness to pay for Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance, based on ISCE survey data.
The survey results indicate that in Italy, despite rising life expectancy and an increasingly ageing population, both awareness of Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance and willingness to pay for such policies remain quite limited. This reveals a double constraint on their diffusion: economic factors that reduce the propensity to pay and an information gap that hinders the adoption of effective protection tools. The main reasons given for not being willing to pay include limited financial resources, distrust toward this type of solution, poor knowledge of the product, and the perception of not being at risk of losing self-sufficiency.
