The August 2024 report analyses data from the surveys conducted in October 2023, January 2024, and April 2024, focusing on Italian consumer expectations over the following 12 months.
The report offers an intertemporal comparison of growth expectations for the most common macroeconomic indicators: GDP, inflation, unemployment, interest rate, and housing prices.
There is a slight improvement in expectations across all variables analysed, especially in relation to the data collected in April 2024.
These data indicate a reduction in expected inflation and unemployment over the next 12 months and a smaller contraction in GDP than previously anticipated. As for the housing market, Italian consumers expect a reduction in mortgage interest rates and a minimal increase in property prices.
