This report is based on data from the Italian Survey on Consumer Expectations (ISCE) conducted between October 2023 and October 2024. It examines Italian consumers' expectations regarding key macroeconomic variables, such as GDP, inflation, unemployment, interest rates, and housing prices.
The report analyzes data from the survey conducted in October 2024, focusing on Italian consumers' expectations for 2025 regarding key macroeconomic and microeconomic variables. The survey results indicate that, concerning macroeconomic variables, Italian households hold more pessimistic expectations compared to official forecasts. On an individual level, consumers anticipate lower incomes for the coming year and foresee a slight increase in spending compared to the current situation. Among spending categories, energy bills are once again significant, showing a renewed increase compared to previous surveys. At the same time, consumers expect to invest their savings at still relatively high interest rates.
