This report is based on data from the Italian Survey on Consumer Expectations (ISCE) conducted between October 2023 and July 2024. It examines Italian consumers' expectations regarding key macroeconomic variables, such as GDP, inflation, unemployment, interest rates, and housing prices.
The report analyzes data from surveys conducted in October 2023, January 2024, and April 2024, focusing on the expectations of Italian consumers for the subsequent 12 months. It also provides a comparison of expectations regarding the growth of key microeconomic indicators, outlining a future microeconomic scenario that remains, overall, uncertain.
Specifically, the data collected in July 2024 reveal expectations of a contraction in future income—though slightly improving—and in anticipated consumption for major household expenses over the next 12 months, with the exception of energy bill expenditures.
